Give-a-way for Handmade Quilt and other Gifts

The prayer group from St. Joseph’s Parish in Conway Springs, Kansas brought us a beautiful, handmade, hand-quilted quilt and wall rosary.

Drawing will be held on  the Vigil of the Feast of the Immaculate Conception, Dec 7, 2008 as a reminder-in-faith to this group that one day, at the Annunciation, the angel Gabriel would appear to Our Blessed Mother, and tell her
"Nothing is impossible with God."

"Angel in My Cabin" Quilt

For God commands the angels to guard you in all your ways. ~Psalm 91:11.

The quilt is a traditional log cabin pattern which forms a beautiful angel.  When this quilt is displayed in your home or that of your loved one, it will remind everyone that God’s angels are always with us to guide and protect.
This gorgeous quilt is also reminiscent of Our Lady.  The quilt front is blue and cream color – the colors traditionally used by artists to depict our Lady’s dress and veil.  The back of the quilt is covered with blue roses--again, to represent Our Lady and the beauty of life itself.
The quilt measures 90” x 112”.  It comes complete with a green scapular sewn inside and, true to tradition, the quilters’ added their prayers that its owner will remain strong in, or return to, the practice of the Catholic Faith.

Wall Rosary

Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant searching for fine pearls. When he finds a pearl of great price, he goes and sells all that he has and buys it.                   ~Matthew 13:45-46

The rosary wall hanging is also handmade and features sparkling blue fabric beads.  Each bead has a pearl in the center to remind us of Jesus words in Matthew where He tells us that the Kingdom of Heaven is like a “pearl of great price” and worth giving up all that we have in exchange for it.  The beads are connected by a gold tone chain.  As the Blessed Mother always guides her children to do, the rosary beads encircle the crucifix, placing Christ in the center of the beads and of our lives.  The porcelain crucifix measures 5 ¾ x 2 ¾”.  The entire piece is covered with cream and gold cloth and measures 32 ¼” x 23 ½”.
