Dear Marian Mantle Group,
Congratulations on your first conference and thank you for your commitment to pray for others to come home
to the Church. Such prayer is always a response to Jesus’ promise, "Ask and you will receive, seek and you
will find, knock and it shall be opened to you." As always, we offer all prayer in the Spirit that God’s
will be done. He can and does give us more than we envision or seek.
In the Gospel, Jesus proclaims at the heart of His
ministry that "the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand." The word ‘Heaven’ brings
to mind our eternal goal. We strive with God’s grace to be with the Lord
forever.
Jesus’ proclamation also refers to the development
of the Kingdom of Heaven in this world. In the Our Father, Jesus teaches us
to pray "Thy Kingdom come" and that the "will of God be done on earth as it
is in Heaven."
Jesus certainly means for us to pray
that hurting members find peace and commitment to Christ here and now as
well as in eternity.
Please remember that your
prayers and example bring others to Christ and re-enliven their faith.
We ask God that those whose faith may be weak will experience a
conversion so that their goodness will lead others to Christ. You are in my
prayers daily as you serve the cause of the Marian Mantle Group. May Mary,
our Mother, strengthen us by her intercession.
Sincerely in Christ,
Monsignor Michael Mullen
